Direct Overview: The Kaishan KW500 is a heavy-duty, crawler-mounted multifunctional deep water well and geothermal borehole drilling rig designed for depths up to 500 meters with hole diameters ranging from ⌀140 mm to 350 mm. Powered by a fuel-efficient 118 kW Yuchai diesel engine delivering 10,000 N·m rotary torque and a 26-ton (260 kN) pullback force, it features a hybrid "Gas & Water" dual-mode system that supports both high-pressure DTH air hammer percussion (17–35 bar) in hard bedrock and mud rotary pumping in loose overburden at penetration rates of 15–35 m/h.

Agricultural irrigation, commercial groundwater intake, and geothermal HVAC ground-loop installations frequently encounter unpredictable subterranean geology—alternating between loose sand, sticky clay, thick pebble/cobble strata, and solid hard rock (f=6–20). Traditional single-method drilling rigs often suffer severe delays or borehole collapse when switching between these layers.
The Kaishan KW500 eliminates these construction bottlenecks by combining hydraulic top-drive technology with a large-spindle-diameter power head. Achieving drilling speeds up to 10 times faster than conventional rotary table drills, the KW500 allows contractors to transition smoothly between air percussion, foam mist flushing, and positive-displacement mud drilling on a single versatile crawler platform.
Powered by an industrial-grade 118 kW Yuchai turbocharged engine engineered for low specific fuel consumption, low emissions, and reliable continuous heavy-load performance across harsh remote jobsites.
Reinforced structural mast provides 26T (260 kN) rig lifting force with an extended 6.6m one-time advance stroke, allowing direct handling of standard 6-meter drill pipes and heavy casing strings, reducing joint-connection cycle times by 50%.
Hydraulic top drive power head generates 7,500–10,000 N·m rotary torque and 40–130 r/min stepless rotation. Features a large hollow spindle bore compatible with compressed air, foam flushing, and heavy mud pump circulation.
Four heavy-duty hydraulic leveling outriggers offer an extended 1.7m travel stroke. Facilitates instant site leveling without cranes and enables direct self-loading and unloading onto flatbed transport trucks.
Integrated compression and decompression hydraulic circuit allows drillers to visually monitor and adjust weight-on-bit (WOB) as drilling depth deepens, preventing rod bending and premature hammer wear.
Comes standard with a 2-ton auxiliary hydraulic tool hoist, swing-out centralizer guide, hydraulic rod breakout wrench, and pre-reserved hydraulic interfaces for onboard foam pumps and welding generators.

For efficient 140–350 mm deep borehole penetration down to 500 meters, the KW500 connects directly with the following high-pressure auxiliary packages:
Kaishan LGCY-22/20, LGCY-26/20, or KSCY-750/20 (20–25 bar, 22–26 m³/min) for high-speed DTH hammer drilling in rock formations.
BW-250 or BW-320 high-pressure reciprocating mud pumps for wall protection and rotary bit drilling in soft clay, sand, and gravel layers.
A: The KW500 is engineered to drill boreholes between 140 mm and 350 mm in diameter up to an economical depth of 500 meters using 6", 7", or 8" DTH hammers and ⌀102/108/114 mm drill pipes.
A: The KW500 offers a 500-meter drilling depth with a 26-ton lifting force and an 118 kW Yuchai engine (11.5T weight), making it lighter and highly economical for mid-to-deep wells. In contrast, the KW600C reaches 600 meters with a 30-ton pullback capacity, 132 kW Cummins engine, and 13-ton overall machine weight.
A: Yes. The four hydraulic outriggers have a 1.7-meter vertical stroke, enabling the rig to elevate above standard flatbed trailer height so the transport truck can drive underneath directly, eliminating mobile crane rental costs.
