Fitted with an industrial hydraulic top hammer rock drill delivering up to 27 kW impact power, 1612 N·m torque, and high-frequency striking (38–45 Hz). Designed for standard 45/51 mm drill rods, it penetrates complex rock formations with superior hole-flushing capabilities in the 76–127 mm diameter range.
The upper superstructure rotates 0–180° (120 ° + 60 °), providing a 26.5 m² single-position drilling area. Symmetrically placed at the rear of the rotary frame, the power unit acts as a perfect counterweight to the articulated boom and advancing beam at any orientation.
Powered by a 194 kW Cummins QSC8.3-C260-30 engine driving an onboard Kaishan screw air compressor (9.7 m³/min at 10 bar) and load-sensing hydraulics. Includes a certified FOPS & ROPS climate-controlled cab and optional wireless remote control for tramming, track leveling, and frame rotation.

The Kaishan KT45 hydraulic top hammer drilling rig is engineered for versatile, high-precision blast hole and pre-splitting drilling across medium-to-large civil and quarry engineering projects:
Unlike down-the-hole (DTH) rigs where the hammer strikes down at the bottom of the hole, the KT45 utilizes an onboard high-frequency hydraulic drifter (HC150/HC160) at the top of the mast. This delivers higher penetration rates in medium-to-hard rock for 76–127 mm holes, using the onboard 9.7 m³/min air compressor primarily for rapid hole cleaning rather than driving the impactor.
The KT45 is equipped with a 6+1 automatic rod changer that handles standard T45/T51 × 3660 mm drill rods, reaching an economical drilling depth of 25 meters with automatic thread lubrication.
