Equipped with a certified four-cylinder Yuchai non-road diesel engine (58 kW / 78 HP @ 2,200 rpm) meeting strict emission standards. Features an upgraded folding-frame crawler chassis with plunger piston tramming motors and newly added ±10° track leveling cylinders, delivering enhanced ground traction and ≤30° climbing gradeability on rugged quarry benches.
Reinforced with an enlarged lifting cylinder and heavy-duty leaf chain, increasing pull-up capacity to 25 kN with 2,000 N·m rotary torque and higher rotation speeds (0–140 rpm). Accommodates both Φ64 mm and Φ76 mm drill pipes with 3″ and 4″ DTH hammers, extending the hole diameter range to 130 mm and the depth to 25 meters.
Enlarged pitch and lifting cylinders provide 185° total beam tilt (down 135°, up 50°) and 145° beam swing, allowing versatile vertical, inclined, and low horizontal toe-hole blast drilling (min height: 350 mm; max: 2,750 mm). Built with thickened housing profiles, hoisting rings, and an onboard cyclonic dust collector (QZA-90 / QZA-120).

A: The KD40S adds ±10° hydraulic track leveling cylinders for enhanced terrain stability, increases lifting pull force from 18 kN to 25 kN, raises rotary speed from 120 rpm to 140 rpm, expands hole diameter up to 130 mm (compatible with both 3" and 4" hammers as well as Φ64/Φ76 mm rods), and narrows machine transport width to 2,450 mm for better mobility.
A: Depending on hole diameter and air hose distance, we recommend pairing the KD40S with Kaishan portable diesel screw air compressors such as the KP450-14 CU (14 bar), KM570-12/15 YC (12/15 bar), or KP650-15/18 YC (15/18 bar) for optimal penetration rates.
A: Yes. The KD40S wide-angle boom supports horizontal drilling down to a minimum height of 350 mm and up to 2,750 mm, providing complete coverage for quarry floor toe blasting without leaving dangerous toe overhangs.
