Standard tunneling jumbos require connecting heavy 380V electric trailing cables and external water/air hoses at every heading. The KJ314 operates purely on diesel power (Cummins 96 kW) with its own onboard water tank and air compressor, allowing operators to drive directly up to an oversized boulder, drill a blast hole in minutes, and quickly tram to the next drawpoint without hookup delays.
The KJ314 utilizes an HC50 rock drill (13 kW at 62 Hz) with R38 shank threads, supporting drill rods R38-H35-R32-1350 for 1000 mm hole depth, or R38-H35-R32-1850 for 1500 mm hole depth across Φ32–76 mm diameters, ideal for secondary boulder splitting.
